FLASH: For the first time since 1862, the Confederates have re-taken Fort Huger on the banks of the James River. The rebel yell has once again been heard and the Confederate flag unfurled.
A big thanks, a tip of the kepi and much appreciation to the Fort guide who offered us this private tour. A big bonus: the historian who did much of the research on the Fort joined us to answer questions.
We manned the cannons and surveyed this new historic park -- a work still in progress, but still highly fascinating for Civil War historians.
